Exposed fastener panels are the most economical form of metal roofing and siding. Panels are over-lapped and fastened directly to the roof deck or framing through the face of the metal panel.

These panels are called exposed fastener because the fastener head remains visible once installed. To help blend with panels, fastener heads are painted the same color as the roofing panels. Most exposed fastener panels are typically 36” wide, meaning that fewer panels (and less labor) will be needed to cover the roof area.
Exposed fastener panels are identified by 5 main criteria:
- Rib Height
- Center to Center Rib Spacing
- Panel Width
- Cover Width after lapping
- Minimum Slope
